Nordic Walking

Did you know that Leki, the UK’s number one trekking pole brand, don’t just make trekking poles? You will have seen Leki ski poles at the Olympics where many skiers using Leki poles, both Alpine and Cross Country, were medal winners. Leki also make a very wide range of specifically designed Nordic Walking poles. These are not modified trekking poles, which use completely different shafts and grips, but poles designed specifically for the purpose of Nordic Walking. The Nordic Walking poles benefit from Leki’s 60 years experience of making specialist poles and from their many patented innovations.

Unlike other brands, Leki Nordic Walking poles use the tried and tested (and patented) Trigger grip that keeps the pole in exactly the right place throughout the full range of the swing. Other brands try to get around this patent by using inferior designs but none work as well throughout the swing as the Trigger grip and none are more comfortable, without any of the pressure points or wrist problems some other straps cause. There’s a good reason the Trigger system is also known as “click and go” as it really is that easy.

Sales of Leki Nordic Walking poles have now outstripped sales of trekking poles in Europe. Growth has been so strong that Leki have had to double the size of their factory.

It’s easy to understand why Leki Nordic Walking poles are so popular:

Leki offer a full range of Nordic Walking poles, including fixed length models in high modular carbon, carbon/aluminium combinations and aluminium, as well as the same full range in telescopic poles. Whilst our fixed length high modular carbon poles have the lightest swing weight and great shock absorption, we also offer the versatility of adjustable poles and the long term durability of aluminium.

Leki are the only company to have the patented Super Locking System. This is the locking system used on the adjustable poles and it has been independently tested and proven to withstand a minimum of 140kg force. This is the strongest locking system available and it also offers a complete 360° reverse turn security. Some companies will tell you that you can’t use adjustable poles for Nordic Walking. This is because they do not have a strong enough locking mechanism to sell these safely.

Leki adjustable poles are so strong that we offer a 5 year guarantee against breakage. We also guarantee to have spare parts available for up to 10 years after the last date of manufacture. That’s how confident we are in Leki Nordic Walking poles and the Super Locking System.

For fitness professionals taking a class this means you can use Leki adjustable poles with confidence, and if you have 10 clients you need only 10 pairs of poles. You can be assured that you will be able to adjust the poles quickly, easily and safely to the perfect length.
