Modern Slavery Statement
Ardblair Sports Importers Ltd (ASI) is publishing this statement under the provision of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the ‘Act’). The Act requires businesses to state the actions they have taken during the financial year to ensure modern slavery is not taking place in their operations and supply chains.
ASI has a zero-tolerance approach to human trafficking and modern slavery in our own business and our supply chain. In striving to improve conditions for all workers throughout our supply chain we recognise the importance of transparency from our suppliers.
Business Structure and Supply Chains
ASI is a multichannel seller of licenced clothing, footwear and accessories. Our Head Office and Warehousing is situated in Blairgowrie, Scotland.
In addition to our own warehouses, our main countries of supply are Italy, Czechia, Romania, Vietnam, Indonesia, China, Turkey and Bangladesh
Risk Assessment
After reviewing potential areas of modern slavery risk across our business we identified the product manufacturing supply chain as a potential area of risk.
Supply Chain Transparency Progress
In order to improve transparency within our supply chain we have, directly and via sourcing partners, ensured that agreements are in place with key suppliers which clearly sets out their obligations and commitment to ensure all labour is voluntary.
We have worked with key brand licensors to confirm they have relevant Ethical Code of Conduct policies in place to cover forced labour and slavery within their approved factory base and that such factories are committed to these standards.
Where we source directly, we put in place a suitable third party audit partner to visit factories in order to review labour practices and freedom of labour. This can involve confidential interviews with factory employees.
Objectives Going Forward
We are committed to achieving on going improvements and maintaining supply chain transparency with greater collaboration with the various suppliers, agents, factories and processors that make up our supply chain.
We have therefore set the following actions:
· To update and communicate the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act to all relevant employees, suppliers and sourcing agents.
• To issue an Ethical Code of Practice to all direct suppliers, which will form part of our terms of business. This Code will cover the required standards on labour practices.
• To provide Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking guidance to relevant employees to help them better identify risks when visiting supplier sites.
